Sam's oxygen level began to drop so he had to have his oxygen put back on. His heart rate was also showing an upward trend so they had to do some more liquids. Tonight they began to move him from his back to a slight elevation with pillows...he didn't tolerate that well and had to have a couple of hits from his morphine pump.
Hang in there big guy.
Pray for lowering his heart rate, better oxygen saturation levels and less pain. No smiles yet but I did hear a big "OW". Sigh!!! He is finally coming around more when he doesn't have so many hits from his morphine.
Slow and steady...you can do this big guy.
I'm going to try to get a couple more hours of sleep. My mind gets fixated on the beeping and trying to will it to slow down. We need his heart rate to be closer to 100 and to stay away from the 130-140's which seem to bring in medical personnel.
We have had great nurses and doctors while in the ICU. I am thankful for that too!
Still waiting to see that smile and see more of the Sam we all know and love coming back.
We are thinking of all of you!
